EZ Weed: a clean border to weed window tint from

EZ Weed adds a border cut line around a window tint piece, offset outward by a distance you set (10 mm by default). The gap between the piece and the border is the same all the way around, which gives you an easy edge to grab when you weed away the excess film. EZ Weed is for window tint only.

How EZ Weed works

  1. Open a window tint pattern and select one or more pieces.
  2. Choose EZ Weed and enter the border distance, or keep the 10 mm default.
  3. Each selected piece gets its own border line. The border and its piece are grouped, so they move, rotate and delete together.

The border is a true offset of the piece's outline, not a scaled-up copy of the shape. A scaled copy sits further from the piece at the corners than along the edges; an offset stays the same distance everywhere.

Common questions

Why isn't EZ Weed available on PPF patterns?

Weeding a border is a window tint workflow, so the tool only appears when the material type is Window Tint. It is hidden for PPF.

Can I add borders to several pieces at once?

Yes. Select several pieces and each gets its own separate border, grouped only with its own piece.
