Privacy Policy

Overview

At PPF/Tint Studio, accessible from ppftintstudio.com, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy document contains types of information that is collected and recorded by PPF/Tint Studio and how we use it.

This privacy policy gives you information about how PPF/Tint Studio collects and uses your personal data through your use of this website and the PPF/Tint Studio desktop application, including any data you may provide when you register with us, sign up to our newsletter, or purchase a product or service.

This website and the Service are not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect data relating to children.

If you have additional questions or require more information about our Privacy Policy, do not hesitate to contact us.

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

We are a Data Controller of your information.

PPF/Tint Studio will retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our policies.

The Types of Personal Data We Collect

Personal data means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified.

We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you which we have grouped together as follows:

Identity Data includes first name, last name, any previous names, username or similar identifier, marital status, title, date of birth and gender.

Contact Data includes billing address, delivery address, email address and telephone numbers.

Financial Data includes bank account and payment card details.

Transaction Data includes details about payments to and from you and other details of products and services you have purchased from us.

Technical Data includes internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, device ID and other technology on the devices you use to access this website or the app.

Profile Data includes your username and password, purchases or orders made by you, your interests, preferences, feedback and survey responses.

Usage Data includes information about how you interact with and use our website, products and services, including the cut history described below.

Marketing and Communications Data includes your preferences in receiving marketing from us and our third parties and your communication preferences.

We also collect, use and share aggregated data such as statistical or demographic data which is not personal data as it does not directly (or indirectly) reveal your identity. For example, we may aggregate individuals' Usage Data to calculate the percentage of users accessing a specific feature in order to analyze general trends in how users are interacting with our website and Service to help improve them.

How Is Your Personal Data Collected?

We use different methods to collect data from and about you including through:

Your interactions with us. You may give us your personal data by filling in online forms or by corresponding with us by email or otherwise. This includes personal data you provide when you apply for our products or services; create an account on our website or in the app; subscribe to our service or publications; request marketing to be sent to you; enter a competition, promotion or survey; or give us feedback or contact us.

Automated technologies or interactions. As you interact with our website or the app, we will automatically collect Technical Data about your equipment, browsing actions and patterns. We collect this personal data by using cookies and other similar technologies.

Third parties or publicly available sources. We may receive personal data about you from various third parties, including analytics providers, advertising networks, and search information providers (Technical Data); and providers of technical, payment and delivery services (Contact, Financial and Transaction Data).

Cut History

When you send a job to your cutter from the PPF/Tint Studio app, the app records that cut with us. This applies to every cut — patterns from our library and files you import yourself — whether the job finishes, you stop it part-way, or it breaks off part-way (for example, if the cutter is disconnected).

Each cut record includes: the date and time; your account and which of your licensed computers was used; the pattern, or for your own file, the name of its tab; the material; the number, names and overall size of the pieces; your Cut Box size; the cutter's name, how it is connected and the control language it uses; how much cutter data was sent to the cutter, compared with the size of the whole job; how long the cut took; the app version; and a copy of the cut file — the exact shapes that were sent to the cutter.

If you cut while offline, the app keeps the record and sends it the next time you are connected. A cut of one of our library patterns made offline may be recorded without its cut file if the app is closed before it reconnects, because library pattern geometry is never stored on your computer.

We use cut history to administer and protect our business and the pattern library: to enforce our Terms and the pattern library license (for example, to detect misuse or account sharing), to help you when you report a problem with a cut, and to understand how the Service is used so we can improve it.

Cut files are stored encrypted on our servers. Cut history is available only to authorized PPF/Tint Studio staff — it is never shown to other customers and never sold. We keep it in line with the Data Retention section below, and you can ask us about the cut history we hold for your account using the contact details at the end of this policy.

How We Use Your Personal Data — Legal Basis

The law requires us to have a legal basis for collecting and using your personal data. We rely on one or more of the following legal bases:

Performance of a contract with you: Where we need to perform the contract we are about to enter into or have entered into with you.

Legitimate interests: We may use your personal data where it is necessary to conduct our business and pursue our legitimate interests, for example to prevent fraud and enable us to give you the best and most secure customer experience. We make sure we consider and balance any potential impact on you and your rights (both positive and negative) before we process your personal data for our legitimate interests. We do not use your personal data for activities where our interests are overridden by the impact on you (unless we have your consent or are otherwise required or permitted to by law).

Legal obligation: We may use your personal data where it is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation that we are subject to. We will identify the relevant legal obligation when we rely on this legal basis.

Consent: We rely on consent only where we have obtained your active agreement to use your personal data for a specified purpose, for example if you subscribe to an email newsletter.

European Economic Area

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights. If you wish to be informed what personal information we hold about you and if you want it to be removed from our systems, please contact us.

You have the right to:

Request access to your personal data (commonly known as a "subject access request"). This enables you to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you and to check that we are lawfully processing it.

Request correction of the personal data that we hold about you. This enables you to have any incomplete or inaccurate data we hold about you corrected, though we may need to verify the accuracy of the new data you provide to us.

Request erasure of your personal data in certain circumstances. This enables you to ask us to delete or remove personal data where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it, where you have successfully exercised your right to object to processing, where we may have processed your information unlawfully, or where we are required to erase your personal data to comply with local law. We may not always be able to comply with your request for specific legal reasons, which we will explain to you at the time of your request.

Object to processing of your personal data where we are relying on a legitimate interest (or those of a third party) as the legal basis for that particular use of your data, including profiling based on our legitimate interests. In some cases, we may demonstrate that we have compelling legitimate grounds to process your information which override your right to object. You also have the absolute right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes.

Request the transfer of your personal data to you or to a third party. We will provide to you, or a third party you have chosen, your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format. This right only applies to automated information which you initially provided consent for us to use, or where we used the information to perform a contract with you.

Withdraw consent at any time where we are relying on consent to process your personal data. This will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdraw your consent. If you withdraw your consent, we may not be able to provide certain products or services to you, and we will let you know if that's the case.

Request restriction of processing of your personal data. This enables you to ask us to suspend the processing of your personal data — for example, if you want us to establish the data's accuracy, where our use of the data is unlawful but you do not want us to erase it, where you need us to hold the data even though we no longer need it because you need it to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, or where you have objected to our use of your data and we need to verify whether we have overriding legitimate grounds to use it.

Log Files

PPF/Tint Studio follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this as part of hosting services' analytics. The information collected by log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users' movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.

Cookies and Web Beacons

Like any other website, PPF/Tint Studio uses "cookies." These cookies are used to store information including visitors' preferences and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users' experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors' browser type and/or other information. You can manage cookie preferences from the cookie preferences link in the footer at any time.

Website analytics. If you turn on Analytics in our cookie preferences, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, provided by Cloudflare, Inc., to measure traffic on ppftintstudio.com. It doesn't use cookies or device fingerprinting and doesn't track you across other websites; we receive only aggregated statistics such as page views, referring sites, country, browser and device type, and page-load performance. If you leave Analytics off, it doesn't run.

Third-Party Privacy Policies

PPF/Tint Studio's Privacy Policy does not apply to other advertisers or websites. If our website uses third-party ad servers or ad networks, they may use technologies like cookies, JavaScript, or web beacons in their respective advertisements and links, which are sent directly to your browser and automatically receive your IP address when this occurs. These technologies are used to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns and/or to personalize the advertising content you see on websites you visit. PPF/Tint Studio has no access to or control over these cookies used by third-party advertisers.

We advise you to consult the respective privacy policies of any third-party ad servers for more detailed information, which may include their practices and instructions about how to opt out of certain options. You can also choose to disable cookies through your individual browser options — detailed information about cookie management with specific web browsers can be found on the browsers' respective websites.

Children's Information

Part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. The Service is intended for business use by PPF and window tint installers and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect any personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you believe your child has provided this kind of information on our website, please contact us immediately and we will do our best to promptly remove such information from our records.

Data Security

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorized way, altered, or disclosed. We limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.

Data Retention

We will only retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or reporting requirements. We may retain your personal data for a longer period in the event of a complaint or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation in respect of our relationship with you.

To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or other requirements.

In some circumstances we will anonymize your personal data (so that it can no longer be associated with you) for research or statistical purposes, in which case we may use this information indefinitely without further notice to you.

Online Privacy Policy Only

Our Privacy Policy applies only to our online activities and is valid for visitors to our website and users of our app with regards to the information that they shared and/or we collect through the Service. This policy is not applicable to any information collected offline or via channels other than the Service.

SMS Terms & Conditions

Upon messaging opt-in, the end user agrees to receive messages from PPF/Tint Studio regarding general communications and marketing. End users can opt out by replying STOP, or request more information by replying HELP. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. If you need assistance or have questions about our SMS service, reply with "HELP" to any SMS message you receive, or contact our support team by email.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent — this information will not be shared with any third parties.
